Save the Date! Janurary 16th, 2027 is when we’ll be hosting our 1st open day of the year. The event will be held at the Rotterdam International Secondary School Junior Campus at Bentincklaan 294, 3039 KK Rotterdam.

What is the DSDC open day?

Our open day is our bi-annual event to scout new, young, high schoolers interested in one day representing The Netherlands at the World Schools Debating Championships. On the day, you’ll receive a workshop in the morning by one of our highly skilled coaches on a skill related to debating and the format that we do. Afterwards, you’ll debate 3 rounds of WSDC-style debates against other high schoolers. You’ll be mixed into teams with some students already in our selection, or you may debate in a team of your choosing as long as you’ve indicated this in the sign-up form. During these debates, our coaches will judge and understand better your performance. In a few weeks after the event, we’ll send an email about whether we select you to take part in our development training squad.

Even if you don’t wish to be selected, this is still a wonderful opportunity to get feedback by past/current debating champions and develop your own critical thinking, public speaking and argumentation skill!

Are there requirements to joining?

The only requirements we have are that you preferably graudate 2028 or later and that you live in the Netherlands and attend a school here whether it be a local or international school. Otherwise, we don’t require any previous debating experience! Our goal is to train you so that you’ll represent The Netherlands at WSDC later on, so don’t worry about not having enough experience now.

How can I join?

Fill in this form through the link here: https://forms.gle/3BakKoqb7vqGXGFM6.

Note, there’s a 10 euro fee for signing up.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there! Until then 🙂
